Down on the farm…

Cock-a-doodle-doo! On Monday 14th May the farm animals woke to the sound of excitement from our students as they embarked on their all day excursion to Calmsley Hill Farm. The students had a fun filled day learning all about their favourite farm animals and what life is like on the farm. They enjoyed a bumpy tractor ride, watched a great sheep shearing and whip cracking show, patted a 1 day old chick and had fun milking Annie the cow. The students adored Marley the working dog as he showed the crowd what he does best – rounding up sheep!

Life was very busy on the farm for our little farmers.

The following day at school the students wrote their own recount of the excursion. It was a good opportunity for them to put their beautiful memories and experiences in a piece of writing they can keep for always.

Term 2 Update

Welcome back to Term 2 at Samuel Gilbert Public School. New literacy and number resources have been added to the ‘Class Resources‘ page for your reference and use at home.

All About ME!

This term’s exploration of our ‘This is Me’ topic was topped off with a fabulous ME party. As the title suggests, this party was all about the children. Kinder came to school rocking their favourite outfits and spent the day eating their favourite foods and playing their favourite games. The classrooms were transformed into brilliant play areas. The outside environment became their very own hideaway – a place of imagination and fun with tents and dress-ups.  The day allowed for beautiful peer-peer conversations and opportunities for children to meet and play with others from others across the grade.

Thank you for bringing in a small plate of food to share with the grade.
